"Send-a-Friend" Program

Everybody wins

Our unique "Send-a-Friend" program lets you recommend suitable tours to your friends — perhaps introducing them for the first time to the fun of birding in a group with an experienced leader — while getting a reward for yourself for doing so.

You can even choose your reward: either a substantial $300.00 discount per friend you send, to be applied to your next High Lonesome bird tour, or a $200.00 gift token from Amazon.com.

How it works

All you need to do is get your friend enthused about booking a tour place with us, then send us his or her name before any booking is made.

We will watch out for your friend's booking and register you for your reward when we receive it. Once the tour your friend goes on is complete, we will send you your reward. We've even set up a simple form that you can use to send us the details.

Best of all, you can send as many friends as you like, provided each one matches the eligility conditions set out below. If you send enough people, you may find that your next tour with us is free!

Conditions for eligibility

  1. Only certain tours offer this program. Details are set out on the relevant tour description pages. Eligible tours are indicated in the tour calendar by the initials (SAF) after the tour name.
  2. To qualify, each friend has to be someone who is either a new customer or has not traveled with High Lonesome in the past 2 years.
  3. Your friend need not be traveling with you — or even be on a tour you are going on — but traveling companions and spouses will qualify, so long as they meet all the other conditions.
  4. To qualify, all friends must be referred in advance of booking by the person claiming the reward. We cannot accept any retrospective claims.
  5. Your reward will be paid AFTER completion of the tour in which your friend or friends participate. Any cancellations will invalidate the reward.
  6. One reward is given for each friend who completes an eligible High Lonesome tour. Send three friends and you'll get three rewards. There's no limit.
  7. For a reward, you may choose either a $300 discount against your next High Lonesome tour or a $200.00 gift token from Amazon.com.
  8. If you choose a discount, it will apply only to bookings made within a period of 18 months from the date awarded (i.e. the final day of the tour your friend completes).
