Deposits Required

 

Most tours outside the US (except as noted on individual tour description): $500.00 per person, per trip.

Continental US, except Alaska and Florida: $350 per person per trip.

Alaska: $500 per person per trip (For example: two trips taken consecutively, such as Gambell 2 and Nome 1, will require a $1000 deposit). Alaska "Combined Tours" require a $1000 deposit as well. In addition, Dutch Harbor, Adak, and Barrow will require a higher deposit dependent upon the current air fare to each. We will notify you of the deposit at time of signup.

Florida (Dry Tortugas): $500 per person.

Deposits are refundable up to 120 days prior to the trip departure, less a $50 per person processing fee. Alaska trips and trips outside the USA: $150 per person processing fee applies.

Full payment for all trips is due 90 days before start of trip.

No refunds within 90 days of trip start date.

Tour Bookings

Booking, paying for and confirming a tour place with High Lonesome BirdTours is simple. Just follow these four steps:

1. CHECK THAT PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE: You can use the link below or phone us. If we still have vacancies on the trip that you request, we will tell you and put those places on hold for a maximum of 10 (ten) days.

Click the botton to bring up the Tour Inquiry Form. Please be patient. It will take a few moments to load. If you have any problems, you can access the Tour Inquiry Form directly via this link.

2. MAKE YOUR BOOKING: Your booking will not be confirmed until we receive your fully completed tour booking form, together with payment of the required deposit(s).

If you wish to send us the form by mail, rather than use the on-line version, you may download the form here (the form is in PDF format) or use the printer-friendly version.

3. PAY THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT: Full payment of all deposits must be made within ten (10) days. If you do not do so, we will cancel the provisional booking and release the place(s) to others. Our tours fill quickly and we cannot hold places beyond this period.

4. Payments should be made by a check in US currency drawn on a US bank. If this is a problem, please contact us to discuss alternatives. We currently do not accept credit cards.

5. PAY THE BALANCE OF THE TOUR PRICE: Your final payment of the balance of the tour price must be paid no less than 90 days before the start of the tour. If you make a booking within that 90-day period, the balance is payable as soon as your place is confirmed. Some selected tours require earlier payment, but that will no noted on the trip description.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all of our guests consider the purchase of travel insurance for protection against cancellation penalties and other unforeseeable circumstances such as an emergency medical evacuation. We recommend CSA, a highly-rated travel insurance company.
